Content Written For You
If you’ve ever been to a forum, you’ve already seen usergenerated content in action. Forums often rank quite well in
the search engines, and the owner of the site doesn’t have
to write a single word if they don’t want to.
But what about traditional websites and blogs? Can you have
user generated content on those?
Of course you can!
You can’t have it completely automated the way you can on
forums, but there are ways to get user generated content for
any type of website.
Let’s take a look at some ways you can get other people to
write your content for you.
Interviews
Interviews are a great way to get a ton of content written
for you. All you have to do is contact someone in your
industry, ask them if they would be willing to do a written
interview for your blog, and email them some questions.
When they email you their answers, you post them on your
site. It’s that simple!
Below is a simple email template you can send to people
by email, contact form, or social media to ask them if they
will do an interview for you.

Hello,
I’m a big fan of your blog, and I was wondering if you
might be willing to do an interview for my blog at:
http://www.linktoyourblog.com
It would only be 10 questions, which I would send to
you by email. You can answer them whenever you have time
and email them back.
Thank you so much for your time,

Guest Posts
Guest posts are another way to get free content for your
site. You simply have someone write a unique article
for your site, and in exchange, they get a link to their
own site.
Obviously, you only want to do this for people who have a
website you feel comfortable linking to. And they will
probably only want to do it if you have a little traffic
or a decent social media following.
But guest posts are a great way to get unique content
without paying for it, and you can gain additional
benefit by asking them to let their own social media
followers know about the article when it is posted!
Re-Blogs
Re-blogs are when you take someone else’s blog post or
article and post it to your own blog or website.
Obviously, you need permission before you do this. And
some people won’t want to allow you to post their entire
article to your site because it might cause duplicate
content issues.
But you might be able to get permission to post a
portion of their article to your site, with a link to
read the rest on their site.
Then you can include your own additional comments in
the article to help make the article unique and avoid
any duplicate content issues.
Tomorrow, we’re going to take a look at other forms of
media you can include on your site that will save you
even more time and get you even more attention from
Google and social media.
